MINSK, 23 February (BelTA) – HC Dinamo Minsk have clinched the Gagarin Cup 2021 playoff spot as HC Jokerit Helsinki defeated HC Vityaz 5-1 on 22 February, BelTA has learned.
The Bisons have finally settled into the top eight in the Western Conference and are now out of reach of other contenders.
HC Dinamo Minsk will play in the KHL playoffs for the fifth time. The last time they Belarusian team made it into the Gagarin Cup playoffs was in the 2016/2017 season. The team has never reached the second round of the playoffs.
The Bisons have three more games to play in the regular season: against HC Amur Khabarovsk on 23 February, HC Dinamo Riga on 25 February 25 and HC SKA St. Petersburg on 27 February.
