MINSK, 16 May (BelTA) - Liubov Charkashyna, chief coach of the Belarusian national rhythmic gymnastics team, shared her opinion on the necessity of holding national athletes forums, BelTA has learned.
The 3rd National Athletes Forum kicked off at the headquarters of the National Olympic Committee (NOC) of Belarus on 16 May. The event united Olympic champions and medalists, famous Belarusian and Russian athletes and coaches, as well as heads and representatives of physical education and sports organizations of both countries. The forum participants discussed the organization of competitions, joint training camps and the world sport agenda.
“This event has already become a good tradition, an indication of how necessary it is. I remember two years ago the mood at the forum was more pessimistic, but now there is much more optimism here. Reasoning has become more confident, and everyone has clear plans of what we want from sport,” Liubov Charkashyna said. “It is great that athletes have the opportunity to come and hear about sport from a slightly different perspective. This allows everyone to keep only the really important things for themselves and get rid of all the unnecessary, and also to understand in what direction to move forward. Participation in master classes also gives athletes further development. In particular, public speaking lessons are in great demand as they give necessary skills in talking to the media. My athletes came here with great interest. I can see that they like to discover something new. If we are given such opportunities, why not incorporate this knowledge into our lives?”
