MINK, 14 November (BelTA) - HC Dinamo Minsk and the Belavia airline unveiled a Dinamo-themed aircraft on Thursday, BelTA has learned.
"The airline and Dinamo Minsk have been cooperating for about ten years. The idea of this project sprang up three years ago. Belavia has carried the hockey players to many countries and cities. Our planes have become a kind of second home for them. The team's matches are regularly attended by our flight attendants," Belavia’s director general Igor Cherginets said. “We share many things, in particular, love for the country and its traditions. This manifests in our symbols: Belavia’s cornflower and Dinamo’s bison. You cannot do without resilience, will to win and team spirit, both in sport and in aviation."
The aircraft’s inaugural flight will carry HC Dinamo Minsk hockey players to Moscow’s Sheremetyevo today. Then the Bisons will travel to Balashikha to face HC Vityaz as part of the KHL regular season. In total, hockey players play 34 away games and visit 20 cities during the season. The total time they spend in the air is 120 hours. The players cover about 60,000km.
“This is a unique and bold project for Belarusian sport, which should become a source of inspiration for both our hockey players and fans, as well as a symbol of the beauty and strength of Belarusian sport and cultural values of our country,” HC Dinamo Minsk director general Artyom Karkotsky said.
“At the beginning of my career I could not even imagine that my team would have its own themed aircraft. Only the world’s top clubs had such dedicated aircraft before,” HC Dinamo Minsk captain Andrei Stas said. “Thanks to everyone who was involved in the project. I thank Belavia that our flights are always safe and comfortable. For our part, we will try to make our fans happy with convincing victories and great game.”
The Dinamo-themed aircraft will serve regular and charter flights, popularizing the brand of HC Dinamo Minsk.
