Belarusians continue action at tournaments in Linz, Stockholm

MINSK, 9 November (BelTA) – Belarusian tennis players continue their performance at the tournaments in Austria and Sweden, BelTA has learned.

Belarus' world number 85 Aliaksandra Sasnovich will face former world number one Simona Halep of Romania, currently ranked 22, in the Linz Open round of Last 16. The Belarusian saw off world number 105 Fiona Ferro of France, 6-2, 3-6, 6-2, in the opener. In the doubles round one Belarus' Lidziya Marozava and Russia's Irina Khromacheva beat India-Netherlands duo Ankita Raina and Rosalie van der Hoek, 7-6 (7-3), 7-6 (7-2). In the quarterfinal Marozava and Khromacheva will face Germany-Czech tandem Julia Lohoff and Renata Voracova.

Belarus' world number 113 Egor Gerasimov will play Taylor Fritz of the United States (World No.26) in the Stockholm Open round of Last 32. The winner of the match will face world number 53 Tommy Paul of the United States for a spot in the quarterfinal.

The Linz Open will be over on 12 November, the Stockholm Open – on 13 November.
