Belarusian swimmer Maksim Malyshka clinched EYOF 2025 champion title

MINSK, 23 July (BelTA) - Belarusian swimmer Maksim Malyshka clinched the country’s first gold medal at the European Youth Olympic Festival (EYOF 2025) in North Macedonia, BelTA has learned.

The Belarusian athlete dominated the 200m breaststroke, posting the fastest time in the preliminaries and cruising to victory in the semifinals. In the final, Maksim Malyshka touched in first to take gold with a time of 2:16.88. Ukraine’s Kostiantyn Fediuchuk claimed silver, 2.5 seconds behind the winner, while Simon Studnicka of the Czech Republic rounded out the podium with bronze.


On 22 July, Alina Nestsiarovich won a silver in the 10m Air Pistol Girls with 375 points. Arseni Livantsou bagged bronze in 10m Air Rifle Boys the day before.

The event in Skopje has brought together around 1,700 young athletes aged 14 to 18 from 49 nations, with Belarus fielding a 46-strong squad. The competitions in North Macedonia will run until 26 July.
