MINSK, 24 July (BelTA) – Belarusian swimmer Mikita Liakh has reaped a silver medal at the European Youth Olympic Festival in North Macedonia, BelTA learned from the press service of the National Olympic Committee of Belarus.
The Belarusian swimmer secured a podium finish in the Boys' 100m Freestyle. Despite qualifying from the eighth position Mikita Liakh delivered a stellar performance in the final, touching in second with a time of 52.18. He was narrowly edged out by Italy's Daniele Fiorelli, who took gold with a time of 51.89 seconds. Portuguese swimmer Rodolfo Alecrim rounded out the podium in 52.43.
