Belarusian Kira Magarevich qualifies for all-round final of Russian Artistic Gymnastics Championships 

MINSK, 15 March (BelTA) - The Russian Artistic Gymnastics Championships featuring Belarusian athletes continue underway at the Sirius Arena in Sochi, Russia,  BelTA learned from the press service of the Belarusian Gymnastics Association.

All in all, 150 gymnasts are taking part in the event. These include Olympic champions and prize-winners of world and European championships. A total of 92 athletes, including two representatives of Belarus, competed in the qualification in the women's all-around held on the eve of the tournament. Kira Magarevich made it to the final of the Russian Championships, scoring a total of 47.032 points on four apparatuses. Tokyo Olympic champions Angelina Melnikova (57.365) and Viktoria Listunova (55.232) showed the best results in the qualification. Another Belarusian Anastasia Smantser performed only on the balance beam and in floor exercises, but did not make it to the individual finals. 

The women's all-around finals will be held in the evening program on 15 March. The men’s event will take place in the afternoon. Two of Belarusian athletes will compete for medals: Bogdan Ilyinkov and Alexey Seleznev. All in all, the Russian Artistic Gymnastics Championships include 14 medal events. The finals in individual disciplines will be held on the weekend.
