MINSK, 27 January (BelTA) - Famous Belarusian ice hockey player and center forward Aleksandr Kitarov has become a second-time anti-COVID-19 convalescent plasma donor, BelTA learned from the website of the National Scientific and Practical Center for Transfusiology and Medical Biotechnologies.
“Until last year I had never been a donor, but I got coronavirus, recovered, and realized that I needed to help others. I have some free time and I still have antibodies, so I decided to come to the National Scientific and Practical Center for Transfusiology and Medical Biotechnologies again to make a donation,” said Aleksandr Kitarov.
Aleksandr Kitarov said that his first plasma donation went very well. “I am an athlete and I started training the following day. On the first day I followed all the recommendations of transfusiologists and excluded physical exercises. On the second day I was allowed to resume training. I began active training and then had competitions,” the athlete said.
Aleksandr Kitarov made his first donation in November 2020.
