MINSK, 28 September (BelTA) – Belarus’ Yauheni Zalaty has won a bronze medal at the 2025 World Rowing Championships in Shanghai, China, BelTA has learned.
As many as 30 athletes participated in the men’s single event, with the top six reaching the final one. Yauheni Zalaty kept out of the way for a long time but made it to the top three in the final section of the swimming distance. Yauheni Zalaty clocked 6 minutes 38.60 seconds and finished third. The gold medal went to Greece’s Stefanos Ntouskos, who was ahead of the Belarusian athlete by two seconds. Germany’s Oliver Zeidler came in second.
During the current season Yauheni Zalaty won a medal at a European championship. A year ago he won silver at the Paris Olympics. Belarus’ Tatsiana Klimovich and Alena Furman came in third in a women’s pair event at the 2025 World Rowing Championships in Shanghai.
