MINSK, 23 November (BelTA) – Russia's Kazan is hosting the second stage of the Friendship Games, BelTA has learned.
On the third competition day Belarus clinched a gold medal. The Belarusian four of Viktar Staselovich, Ilya Shymanovich, Nastassia Karakouskaya and Anastasiya Kuliashova clocked 1:38.63 to win the 4x50m medley, leaving the teams of St. Petersburg and Moscow behind. Besides, Ilya Shymanovich finished 5th in the men's 200m breaststroke. Hryhory Pekarski came in fourth in the men's 100m butterfly.
Over the three days of international competitions in Kazan Belarus has bagged four (2-1-1) medals.
More than 1,000 athletes from 22 countries are taking part in the tournament which is to complete on 25 November.
