MINSK, 1 March (BelTA) – Belarusian athletes won 12 medals at the Aleksey Yukov Memorial Boxing Tournament in Gomel, BelTA has learned.
Gold medals went to Kirill Levankov (56kg) and Andrei Viktorovich (75kg).
Silver medals were collected by Andrei Masalov (81kg) and Vitaly Ostanin (91kg).
Bronze medals were clinched by Stanislav Korenkov and Maksim Krupovsky (both 60kg), Aleksandr Dovnar, Roman Malinovsky (both 64kg), Stanislav Shuplyakov, Vladislav Moradi (both 69kg), Aleksandr Prudnikov (81kg), Maksim Kudryavtsev (91kg).
Aleksey Yukov Memorial Boxing Tournament makes part of the competition calendar of the European Boxing Confederation. For the Belarusian athletes (born in 2002-2003) this year's tournament became one of the key qualifiers for the world championships in this age category.
The tournament to honor the memory of the only Belarusian boxer who became the absolute champion of the USSR, six-time champion of the BSSR, bronze medalist of the 8th Spartakiad of the Peoples of the USSR, winner of many international tournaments gathered athletes from Belarus, Spain, Kazakhstan, Kyrgyzstan, Moldova, Russia and Uzbekistan.
The tournament was held without fans due to the complicated epidemiological situation. The organizers took all necessary epidemiological measures in accordance with the recommendations of the Healthcare Ministry of Belarus. Online broadcast of the tournament was available for fans.
