Belarus win 11 medals at 2021 European Throwing Cup in Croatia

MINSK, 12 May (BelTA) – Belarusian athletes won 11 medals at the 2021 European Throwing Cup in Split, Croatia, BelTA learned from the press service of the Belarusian Athletics Federation.

Shot-putter Aliona Dubitskaya placed second with her season-best result of 18.79m. Two bronze medals were collected by javelin throwers Pavel Mialeshka (82.55m) and Tatsiana Khaladovich (62.88m).

Belarus ranked third in the men's team standings with the total of 4,312 points. Points for Belarus were earned by Pavel Mialeshka, Aleh Tamashevich, Yuri Vasilchanka and Hleb Zhuk.

Belarus also ranked third in the women's team standings with 4,317 points earned by Aliona Dubitskaya, Tatsiana Khaladovich, Anna Malyshchyk and Sviatlana Siarova.

In the U23 events Belarus won gold in discus throwing (Yauheni Bahutski, 64.37m), another gold in shot-put (Dzmitry Karpuk, 19.99m). Pavel Sasimovich won javelin silver (77.23m) and Karyna Butkevich also took javelin silver (56.20m).

Belarus topped the U23 men's team standings with 4,277 points. Belarus placed second in the U23 women's team standings with 3,715 points.
