MINSK, 10 June (BelTA) – Belarus will face Kazakhstan in the UEFA Nations League on 10 June, BelTA has learned.
In Group C3 in Novi-Sad, Serbia Belarus will play Kazakhstan, the leader of the group (the match starts at 21.45). The match will be officiated by a team of Austrian referees led by Manuel Schuttengruber.
In the opener Belarus suffered a narrow loss to Slovakia, 0-1, and then drew with Azerbaijan, 0-0. Kazakhstan beat Azerbaijan, 2-0, in the first match in Nur-Sultan and edged Slovakia, 1-0, in Trnava. On 10 June, Azerbaijan will host Slovakia in Baku. The Group C3 standings are as follows: Kazakhstan – 6 points, Slovakia – 3, Belarus - 1, Azerbaijan – 1.
This season of the UEFA Nations League is in its third year. Portugal was the winner of the first edition in 2019. France won the tournament in 2021. The Belarusian national team started in League D and, taking the first place in Group 2, went up to League C. Last season, Belarus finished second in Group 4, losing the first position to Albania.
