Belarus rout Israel in UEFA Futsal Euro 2022 qualifying

MINSK, 6 April (BelTA) – The Belarusian national futsal team secured their second win in the UEFA Futsal Euro 2022 qualifying, BelTA has learned.

In the Group 5 match in Minsk on 6 April Belarus whitewashed Israel 14-0. The host seized the initiative from the very beginning and scored six times by the end of the first half. Vladislav Selyuk bagged a hat-trick, while Sergei Krykun, Vladimir Zhigalko and Dmitry Los score twice each. Evgeny Cherneyko, Pavel Rogovik, Maksim Evdokimov, Oleg Gorbenko and Ruslan Lazyuk added to the result.

Earlier, Belarus beat Israel 3-0, and lost to Kazakhstan 2-5 and 1-6 and to Hungary 1-2.

The group standings are as the following: Kazakhstan – 9 points, Hungary – 6, Belarus – 6, Israel – 3.

Belarus will face Hungary in Minsk on 13 April.

Spain, Italy, Croatia, Bosnia and Herzegovina, Russia and Azerbaijan have already qualified for the final. Winners of the eight qualifying teams and six best runners-up will compete in the final stage of the 2022 European championship. The two other runners-up will face each other for one more berth in the final, which is to be played in the Netherlands on 19 January – 6 February 2022.
