Belarus' NOC hosts meeting of medical, antidoping commission

MINSK, 1 December (BelTA) - The NOC medical and anti-doping commission convened for a meeting at the headquarters of the National Olympic Committee (NOC) of Belarus on 1 December, BelTA learned from the NOC press service.

The session considered the issues to work out systematic approaches to health preservation of athletes in conditions of intensive training and competition activities as well as preparation of methodological recommendations on diet for athletes. The meeting participants also discussed the possibility of advanced training of medical personnel of the Belarusian National Research Center of Sports with the help of international grants, the Olympic solidarity funds, participation in international conferences, and other issues. Close attention was paid to the report on the results of the educational seminar for athletes, coaches and sports doctors of the national teams “Train Wisely - Focus on Sports Literacy” which was held at the NOC of Belarus on 20 September.

The activity of the NOC medical and anti-doping commission is aimed at developing proposals to protect the health of athletes and complying with sports and medical ethics, implementing a common medical and anti-doping policy, as well as expanding cooperation with the relevant commissions of the International Olympic Committee and the European Olympic Committees.
