Belarus name roster for Olympic ice hockey qualifiers

MINSK, 24 August (BelTA) - The roster of the Belarusian national ice hockey team for the 2022 Olympic ice hockey qualifiers has been announced, BelTA learned from the Belarusian Ice Hockey Federation.

The tournament in Group D will take place in Bratislava on 26-29 August. Belarus will play against Slovakia, Austria and Poland for the 2022 Olympic spot.

Head coach of the Belarusian national ice hockey team Craig Woodcroft named a squad of 25 players:

goaltenders: Aleksei Kolosov, Ivan Kulbakov (both – HC Dinamo Minsk), Danny Taylor (no club);defensemen: Nick Bailen (HC Traktor, KHL), Kirill Gotovets (HC Avangard, KHL), Vladislav Yeremenko, Sergei Sapego (both - HC Dinamo Minsk), Vladislav Kolyachonok (Arizona Coyotes, USA, NHL), Dmitry Korobov (HC Spartak, KHL), Evgeny Lisovets (HC Salavat Ulayev, KHL), Ilya Solovyov (Calgary Flames, Canada), Kristian Khenkel (HC Ak Bars, KHL);

forwards: Vladimir Alistratov, Dmitry Buinitsky, Artem Demkov, Aleksandr Pavlovich, Ilya Usov (all - HC Dinamo Minsk), Vladislav Kodola (HC Severstal, KHL), Nikita Komarov, Francis Pare, (both – HC Avangard Omsk, KHL), Geoff Platt (HC Salavat Ulayev, KHL), Shane Prince (HC Avtomobilist, KHL), Aleksei Protas (Hershey Bears, USA), Andrei Stas (HC Tractor, KHL), Egor Sharangovich (New Jersey Devils, USA).

Belarus will face Poland on 26 August, Austria on 27 August and Slovakia on 29 August.
