BEIJING, 7 February (BelTA) – Belarus did not make to the podium in the Women's 15km Individual, BelTA has learned.
Dzinara Alimbekava was in the lead before the fourth shooting bouts but miss a target on the last one and thus a chance at a medal.
The leader of the Belarusian team was impeccable before the fourth shooting bout and had a great advantage over her rivals, but one miss and a penalty minute pulled a plug on all medal hopes. As a result, Dzinara Alimbekava finished in 5th (44.44.4). The Olympic gold medal went to German Denise Herrmann, who clocked 44.12.7 with one miss. France's Anais Chevalier-Bouchet took silver (+9.4; 1 miss), and Norwegian Marte Roeiseland – bronze (+5.3; 2).
Belarusian Iryna Leshchanka was 41st (+4.57.6; 4), Elena Kruchinkina - 48th (+5.44.1; 4), Hanna Sola - 53rd (+6.23.2.; 7).
The Men's 20km Individual with four shooting bouts is scheduled for 8 February.
