Belarus’ Kushnir, Tsuper named ambassadors of 1st Winter Children of Primorye Games

MOSCOW, 24 January (BelTA) – The Olympic aerial skiing champions, renowned Belarusian athletes Anton Kushnir and Alla Tsuper have become ambassadors of the 1st Winter Children of Primorye Games. The relevant announcement was made during a presentation of the games as part of the international expo Russia at the VDNH Expo Center on 24 January, BelTA has learned.

In addition to Anton Kushnir and Alla Tsuper the ambassadors of the 1st Winter Children of Primorye Games include the Russian skeleton racer Olga Potylitsina, curler Anna Sidorova, and ice dancer Dmitri Soloviev. As part of the efforts to promote the games the ambassadors will use their personal examples to talk about sport accomplishments, the overcoming of hardships, success stories, and healthy lifestyle. Personal certificates and memorabilia of the games were presented to the ambassadors during the presentation.

The first international winter sport games Children of Primorye will take place in Primorye Territory, Russia on 18-23 February. Athletes from regions of Russia as well as from Belarus, China, North Korea, and other countries will take part in the competitions. A total of over 1,500 people are expected to participate in the games. They will compete for medals in eight sports.

The 1st Summer Children of Primorye Games took place in the Russian city of Vladivostok on 2-5 July 2023. Over 1,500 young athletes from Belarus, China, and regions of Russia took part in it. They competed for medals in 11 sports: badminton, basketball, boxing, volleyball, athletics, table tennis, swimming, sambo, football, weightlifting, and wrestling. Belarus placed first in the medal standings by winning 37 medals, including 20 gold ones.
