MINSK, 24 April (BelTA) – Maryia Kandratsyeva of Belarus secured a champion title at the ongoing 2025 European Sambo Championships in Cyprus, BelTA has learned.
The Belarusian clinched gold in the +80kg event. The Belarusian defeated Germany’s Aylin Mill, Georgia’s Elene Kebadze, Russia’s Olesya Tkachenko and Ukraine’s Anatsasiia Komovych. Four years ago the Belarusian claimed the European champion title as well. Last year Maryia Kandratsyeva won gold at the World Sambo Championships.
Belarus won six (1, 1, 4) medals on the first competition day in Limassol. Yauheni Rebikau collected silver in the -58kg Combat Sambo. Bronze medals were secured by Anfisa Kapayeva (-50kg), Tatsiana Matsko (-59kg), Anzhela Zhylinskaya (-72kg), and Raman Damiyeu (+98kg Combat).
