MINSK, 5 December (BelTA) – World number 316 Iryna Shymanovich of Belarus won at the ITF-W60 Rio de Janeiro tournament, BelTA has learned.
In the final the Belarusian saw off world number 237 Irina Khromacheva of Russia, 6-2, 5-7, 6-4 in two hours 33 minutes. On her way to the podium, the Belarusian defeated Spain's world number 220 Rosa Vicens Mas, 6-3, 6-3, Spain's world number 290 Yvonne Cavalle Reimers, 6-1, 6-3, Portugal's world number 301 Francisca Jorge, 5-7, 6-4, 6-3, and Brazil's world number 120 Laura Pigossi, 7-6 (7-4), 4-6, 6-2.
For 25-year-old Iryna Shymanovich this is her 13th champion title in ITF singles events.
