MINSK, 17 May (BelTA) – Belarus won bronze at the 2021 European Race Walking Team Championships in Podebrady, the Czech Republic, BelTA has learned.
The Belarusian team of Nadzeya Darazhuk, Anastasiya Rodzina, and Anastasiya Yatsevich took bronze in the 35km Women Teams. The team competition relied on the individual results of the three athletes. Nadzeya Darazhuk place fifth with the personal record of 2:52.59, Anastasiya Rodzina was sixth, with her personal best of 2:55.07, Anastasiya Yatsevich finished 12th with her personal best of 2:58.01. These results brought 23 points to the Belarusian team.
Italy won the event with the following results: Eleonora Giorgi (2nd place), Lidia Barcella (3rd place), Federica Curiazzi (8th place) – 13 points. Second was Greece: Antigoni Drisbioti (1st place), Kiriaki Filtisakou (7th place), Christina Papadopoulou (10th place) – 18 points.
Lizaveta Hryshkevich of Belarus finished 6th in 47.37 in the 10km U20 Women. The event was won by Eliska Martinkova of the Czech Republic (45.46). Adriana Viveiros of Portugal took silver clocking 47.01 minutes. Bronze went to France's Maele Bire-Heslouis (47.05).
