MINSK, 10 October (BelTA) – Belarus kicked off the second group stage of the 2025 FIFA Beach Soccer World Cup qualifiers with a 9-3 victory over Switzerland in Cadiz, Spain, BelTA has learned.
Goalkeeper Mikhail Avgustov (twice), Vadzim Bokach, Yahor Hardzetski, Ihar Bryshtsel, Yauheni Novikau, Yury Piatrouski, Ivan Kanstantsinau and Aleh Hapon scored for the winning side. Belarus will next face Italy on 11 October and Denmark on 12 October.
Belarus finished top in the first group stage defeating Belgium 11-1 and Moldova 8-4. Belarus secured victory in the Round of 16 after Lithuania got a technical defeat.
The top two nations from each group will secure their places in Seychelles. The final will take place in May 2025. Belarus took part in the three previous editions: placing fourth in 2024 and failing to reach the playoff in 2019 and 2021. This season Nicolas Alvarado’s team secured bronze at the 2024 Euro Beach Soccer League Superfinal.
