Belarus, Armenia committed to expanding cooperation in sport

MINSK, 17 January (BelTA) - President of the Belarusian National Olympic Committee Viktor Lukashenko visited Armenia, BelTA learned from the press service of the NOC.

Viktor Lukashenko arrived in Yerevan at the invitation of his counterpart, the head of Armenia’s National Olympic Committee Gagik Tsarukyan. The parties discussed the ways of expanding cooperation and reaffirmed their commitment to strengthening ties between the Olympic committees and exchanging experience in sport. In particular, Belarus and Armenia are ready to continue the practice of joint training camps on the territory of the two countries.

The Belarusian delegation also toured the Olympavan sports complex and got familiar with the conditions of accommodation, meals and training of athletes. Gagik Tsarukyan awarded Viktor Lukashenko with the Order of the ANOC of Armenia for the services to the development and support of Olympic values and as a sign of gratitude. 

In Yerevan the president of the Belarusian NOC also met with Ambassador Extraordinary and Plenipotentiary of Belarus to Armenia Aleksandr Konyuk to discuss the cooperation between the two countries in sport.
