Belarus 98th in FIFA rankings

MINSK, 20 June (BelTA) - The Belarusian national football team go 98th with 1219.78 points in the recently published rankings of the Federation Internationale de Football Association (FIFA), BelTA has learned.

Following two defeats from Russia (0-4) and Israel (0-4), Carlos Alos Ferrer’s team went down from the 96th to the 98th position in the rankings.

Belarus will play its next matches as part of the UEFA Nations League Group C3 in autumn. The Belarusian team will face Bulgaria (82nd in FIFA rankings) on 5 September, Luxembourg (85th) on 8 September and Ireland (73rd) on 12 October.   

The FIFA rankings are topped by Argentina. Top Five also include France, Belgium, Brazil, and England. Among the post-Soviet states Ukraine ranks the highest (24th). Russia goes 33rd. The next FIFA rankings will be published on 18 July.

Belarus go 55th in the FIFA women’s rankings. The rankings are topped by Spain. Top Five also comprise France, England, Germany and the USA. The next women’s rankings will be published on 16 August.
