BEIJING, 15 February (BelTA) – Belarus placed 7th in the Women's Team Pursuit at the 2022 Beijing Olympic Games, BelTA has learned.
Maryna Zuyeva, Yauheniya Varabiova and Ekaterina Sloeva clocked 3:01.19, two seconds ahead of Poland in the final heat. Canada set a new Olympic record of 2:53.44 to claim gold. Silver went to Japan, bronze – to the Netherlands.
Norway won the Men's Team Pursuit. Russia was second. Bronze went to the United States.
The Olympic speedskating tournament has three more medal events ahead: Women's 1,000m on 17 February, Men's 1,000m on 18 February, Women's and Men's Mass Starts on 19 February.
