Bandarenka: I expected such boxing, but the opponent was faster

TOKYO, 26 July (BelTA) - Vitali Bandarenka of Belarus lost the first bout to Troy Isley of the United States in the middleweight preliminaries at the Tokyo Olympic Games. The Belarusian shared his impressions of the fight, noting that he was ready for Troy Eisley's boxing but that the opponent was faster, BelTA has learned.

“I expected such boxing from the American,” the Belarusian athlete said. “I was adjusting to the fighting rhythm. However, the opponent was faster than me. At some points, he managed to surprise me. I am happy that I made it to the Olympics. My coaches, my family and friends were rooting for. I am happy that I fulfilled the dream of my mentor Stanislav Glushenkov, who recently passed away. He really wanted to see me among the Olympians.”
