MINSK, 14 June (BelTA) – Belarusian tennis players Victoria Azarenka and Aryna Sabalenka went off to a good start in the doubles event at the Grass Court Championships Berlin 2021, BelTA has learned.
In the round of Last 16 the Belarusian tandem took a solid, 6-1, 6-3, win over the Czech duo of Karolina Muchova and Karolina Pliskova. In the quarterfinal Azarenka and Sabalenka will play Petra Martic of Croatia and Shelby Rogers of the United States.
On 15 June, world number 16 Victoria Azarenka will open her run in the singles event against Germany's world number 129 Andrea Petkovic in the round of Last 32. World number 4 Aryna Sabalenka will start her campaign in the second round against either world number 28 Madison Keys of the United States or world number 149 Magdalena Frech of Poland.
The tournament in Berlin will be over on 20 June.
