MINSK, 24 June (BelTA) – Belarus' world number 14 Victoria Azarenka reached the Bad Homburg Open quarterfinal after overcoming France's world number 56 Alize Cornet, 6-4, 3-6, 7-6 (9-7), in three hours and two minutes, BelTA has learned.
The Belarusian will next face Spain's world number 54 Sara Sorribes Tormo. In the opener Victoria Azarenka defeated fellow Belarusian Yuliya Hatouka, ranked 271, 7-5, 6-0.
Bad Homburg Open will be over on 26 June. The world's best tennis players will then travel to London for the Wimbledon which is due to kick off on 28 June.
