MINSK, 30 May (BelTA) – Belarus' world number 47 Aliaksandra Sasnovich lost to Italy's world number 59 Martina Trevisan, 6-7 (10-12), 5-7, in the French Open round of Last 16, BelTA has learned.
The Belarusian defeated China's Wang Xinyu (77), 6-4, 6-1, in the opener, took out world number 12 Emma Raducanu of the UK, 3-6, 6-1, 6-1 in the second round, and defeated Germany's world number 17 Angelique Kerber, 6-4, 7-6 (7-5).
Earlier, in the round of Last 32 Belarus' world number 7 Aryna Sabalenka lost to Italy's world number 30 Camila Giorgi, 6-4, 1-6, 0-6, while Belarus' world number 15 Victoria Azarenka lost to Switzerland's world number 24 Jil Teichmann, 6-4, 5-7, 5-10.
Belarus' world number 50 Ilya Ivashka beat world number 78 Benoit Paire of France, 6-3, 7-5, 1-6, 7-5, in the opener and then lost to world number 37 Cristian Garin of Chile, 3-6, 6-7 (5-7), 6-4, 3-6.
The French Open will be over on 5 June.
