MINSK, 9 April (BelTA) – Aryan Tsiutryn of Belarus won bronze at the ongoing 2025 European Wrestling Championships in Bratislava, Slovakia, BelTA has learned.
The Belarusian freestyle wrestler claimed the medal in 57kg, the men’s lightest weight category. Aryan Tsiutryn defeated Kamil Kerymov of Ukraine and Thomas Epp of Switzerland. In the semifinal the Belarusian lost to Azamat Tuskaev of Serbia. In the bronze-medal bout the Belarusian beat Germany’s Niklas Stechele 4-1. Aryan Tsiutryn won bronze at the 2021 World Wrestling Championships in Oslo.
On 8 April Mahamedkhabib Kadzimahamedau of Belarus reached the 86kg final. Dzmitry Shamela (61kg) and Dzianis Khramiankou (125kg) will complete for bronze medals. The bouts featuring Belarusian wrestlers are scheduled for 9 April. The women’s wrestling event will kick off on 9 April as well. More than 450 athletes are competing for medals at the European Wrestling Championships in Slovakia.
