MINSK, 18 August (BelTA) – Following the postponement of the
event in 2020, the Belarusian capital will again host Minsk Half
Marathon in September 2021. Up to 10,000 people will be able to take
part in the event scheduled for 12 September, BelTA has learned.
This sporting event used to attract more participants before the pandemic. However, some restrictions is still in place due to the current epidemiological situation. The Belarusian Athletics Federation asks all those who will run on 12 September to wear masks. Protective gear can be removed 500 meters after the start of the race. It is the world practice of the recent time.
Registration for Minsk Half Marathon has already been launched.
The 21.097km and 10.55km races will start at 9.00 near the Minsk Palace of Sports. The 5.5km race will kick off at 11.45.
Minsk Half Marathon has been held since 2013. Nearly 40,000 people from different countries took part in the 2019 edition.
