MINSK, 3 February (BelTA) – The European Athletics Association has taken a decision to postpone the 2021 European Throwing Cup, BelTA learned from the press service of the Belarusian Athletics Federation.
The event was due to take place in Leiria, Portugal on 13-14 March. The postponement follows the most recent advice from the health authorities, taking into consideration the critical pandemic situation in Portugal.
European Athletics will continue to monitor the ongoing sanitary situation closely and will assess any potential replacement dates for the 2021 European Throwing Cup. In the present and future, the health and wellbeing of all participants, including athletes, coaches, officials and organizers, is of utmost importance, the organization said in a statement.
