KOROLYOV, 25 March (BelTA) – People’s Artist of Russia Edgard Zapashny congratulated Belarus on the historical event - sending Belarus’ first cosmonaut Marina Vasilevskaya into space. He spoke with journalists at the Roscosmos Mission Control Center where he came to watch the docking of the Soyuz MS-25 spacecraft to the International Space Station and to video conference with his friend, spacecraft commander Oleg Novitsky, BelTA has learned.
“Many thanks to the presidents of Belarus and Russia for such a great momentous event. This is amazing,” said Edgard Zapashny.
“I congratulate everyone on accomplishing it, especially everyone in Belarus. Indeed, this is a great event for the state,” he added.
“Marina Vasilevskaya will not only brighten up space as she is a beautiful young woman, she must also do many useful things for the benefit of our entire planet,” Edgard Zapashny noted.
