MOLODECHNO, 11 October (BelTA) – At the “Not-boring not-lecture” meeting that was held as part of the nationwide social and cultural campaign Marathon of Unity, students of Molodechno Polytechnic College had the opportunity to talk with Deputy Education Minister Yekaterina Petrutskaya. The young people discussed choices that have to be made throughout life, BelTA has learned.
“Before our meeting, I talked to your teachers and I would like to note that I admire them. Like them, I love my profession that I chose more than 30 years ago. I love people and I love you very much. And I promise you that our lecture today will not be boring,” said Yekaterina Petrutskaya.
Making choices was the key topic of the meeting that was held in a dialogue format. “We should be able to understand what impact our choices will make on our lives. It is even more important to keep in mind that this is your choice and you are responsible for it. After all, we have to make choices every day throughout our lives. We choose friends, a life partner, a profession, a country and its future,” the deputy minister noted.
The head of the National Volunteer Center Viktoria Zakharevskaya attended the event as a guest. “Five years ago, I realized that I wanted to help people, so I decided to join the center. Perhaps some of you will also want to become a volunteer and join our ranks,” she said.
The topic of drug addiction was also raised during the conversation. “Usually, it is very difficult to say ‘no’ to drugs because of the peer pressure. And if drug addicts knew what awaited them later on, their choice would be different,” noted Yekaterina Petrutskaya. She emphasized that it is extremely important for a teenager to make informed choices.
The winner of national and international competitions, silver medalist of the competition in San Remo, Stasya Korsak, made a choice in favor of creativity. “I have always loved to sing and draw. My biggest passion is singing, but I did not give up on drawing either. The walls of my house are decorated with my slightly weird drawings and paintings,” she said.
The students shared their views on the topic of choice, emphasizing that it is very important to stay true to yourself, your dreams, to shoot for the stars and achieve professional heights.
“I wish you to always be surrounded by the right people and stick to the right values," wished Yekaterina Petrutskaya.
The conversation was followed by interactive activities, games, gifts and, of course, songs performed by Stasya Korsak.
“The topic discussed is very important. You need to make choices that you will not regret in the future," shared her impressions student Daria Vilks.
“The deputy minister was open and approachable, which helped break the ice very fast,” added Yelena Shapurko.
The “Not-boring not-lecture” meetings together with the Marathon of Unity will travel across the cities of Belarus and invite students from various educational institutions to dialogue.
