Work of district election commission in Brest described as ‘good, meticulous’

BREST, 30 January (BelTA) – What we see is good preparation, attentive and meticulous work, Khalmurat Rashidov, an international observer from the CIS, told the media after a meeting of the district election commission in the administration of Moskovsky District of Brest on 29 January, BelTA has learned.
 
“Our representatives, international observers, have gone to different regions of Belarus. The information on the results of our observation is sent to the central office where it is summarized. Today we are monitoring certain stages of the election process in Brest Oblast. We attended the registration of candidates and thoroughly examined the documentation they provided,” Khalmurat Rashidov said.
 
On 29 January the international observer took part in a meeting of the district election commission in the administration of Moskovsky District of Brest. “The commission acts under both the current legislation and the electoral laws of Belarus. the decisions were made based on them, and the candidates were registered. What we see is good preparation, good attitude of the commission representatives, their diligence, attentive and meticulous work,” he said.
 
The meeting also held a draw to determine the date and time of television and radio appearances.
 
International observers from the CIS will continue their work in Brest on 30 January. “We want to visit all the districts of Brest Oblast. We will make our best to make it happen. Our schedule is very busy so far. We will have time to visit most districts,” Khalmurat Rashidov said.
 
On 25 February 2024, Belarus will hold elections to the House of Representatives of the National Assembly of the eighth convocation and to local councils of deputies of the 29th convocation on the single voting day.
