Dmitry Krutoi
ZHLOBIN, 27 October (BelTA) – Head of the Belarus President Administration Dmitry Krutoi mentioned to reporters that Belarus President Aleksandr Lukashenko is expected to visit the capital city of the Belarusian metallurgical industry – the city of Zhlobin – and the local steel mill BMZ, BelTA has learned. The details of the relevant conversation with the president were shared during a concert held in Zhlobin as part of the Marathon of Unity campaign.
Dmitry Krutoi stressed that the development of the BMZ is an example of the president’s policy that Aleksandr Lukashenko has been pursuing unwaveringly for the last 30 years. “Did they want to split BMZ and sell it part by part in the 1990s? They did,” he remarked. “When 20 years ago the steel mill needed investment resources to renew the manufacturing division, virtually the entire republic allocated them.”
Dmitry Krutoi reminded about the president’s key requirement for allocating government support: every ruble from the state budget must be spent wisely and frugally. Such decisions are some of the most complicated ones in the work of the head of state. “Because his responsibility is huge and obligations to the people are very large. But BMZ heard the president and did everything very well, very decently. And today taxes [from the enterprise] are paid to the state budget and allow us to pay pensions, build excellent social facilities, buy medications, and cover other important expenses,” the head of the Belarus President Administration said.
“It is an example of live unity of the entire country,” he is convinced.
“Certainly, we’ve passed your request to visit Zhlobin and the steel mill to our leader. But our president doesn’t really like anniversary dates. Neither his personal ones nor those related to the job. He said it as a joke: they may have cleaned up [Zhlobin] ahead of the 40th anniversary, I will come later when they haven’t prepared specifically for the visit,” Dmitry Krutoi shared the details. “Certainly, the visit will take place because a great deal of good topics for the conversation is now available.”
