MINSK, 16 January (BelTA) – The latest episode of the documentary series Time Chose Us by the Belarus 1 TV channel recalled how the Belarusian super combine harvester Palesse GS2124 debuted on the fields in 2018, BelTA reports.
In 2017 Aleksandr Lukashenko ordered to design a super combine harvester. Less than a year later, the new machine was taken into the fields for testing. The combine harvester turned out to be powerful, productive and comfortable, with an on-board computer and autopilot.
“Many people set records on these machines - both in Brest Oblast and in Minsk Oblast. The machine proved itself as one of the best in its class. More affordable than Western combines with their bells and whistles. Moreover, it is not just affordable, but it is several times cheaper. And in terms of productivity and quality of harvesting, it is comparable and even ahead of many other models,” said General Designer of the Gomselmash Science and Engineering Center Sergei Fedorovich.
The combine was created on the basis of the KZS-162 model. Improvements allowed high-quality grain harvesting in high-yield fields in a shorter time and with minimal losses.
“The term 'super combine' was first introduced by the president. The thing is that this high-performance machine has almost all the modern features needed by a combine operator,” said Sergei Fedorovich.
The combine harvester is also called a 'limousine' for a high-yield field. It was first presented at the Belagro agricultural expo, and after that the president took it for a test drive.
“These combines are meant for those enterprises that have learned how to prepare the soil. If there is a slight unevenness – the combine catches it, because the header is automatically adjusted. Therefore, the most advanced soil treatment technologies are needed. This machine needs improvements, yet this is truly a combine of the future,” the president delivered his verdict.
