MINSK, 11 November (BelTA) – The majority of the arrested smugglers who help migrants to enter the European Union via Poland live in Germany, German television news channel Welt reports citing a confidential document from the European Commission.
“Most of the reported cases concern the arrest of drivers who help illegal migrants (mainly from Syria, but also from Afghanistan, Iran, Iraq, Kuwait and Yemen) to get to Germany via Poland in rented cars. In most cases, the drivers are third-country nationals (Iranians, Iraqis, Syrians and Turks) living in Germany,” the document of the European Commission reads.
According to the document, Germany and Finland are the main destinations for migrants who are currently at the Polish border.
