MINSK, 16 September (BelTA) – The festival Wargaming Fest: Tanker Day gathered 250,000 people from 28 countries in Pobedy Park in Minsk on 15 September. As many as 2.6 million people watched the stream of the event online, BelTA has learned.

The Wargaming Fest chief organizer Maksim Grachev said: “We started preparing for this festival precisely one year ago and tried to take into account all the accumulated experience in order to make the stay of the guests during the festival as comfortable as possible. Judging from the feedback and by the number of participants and visitors, the festival was a success: we gave people a genuine celebration and confirmed our status of Europe's largest festival of interactive entertainment.”

Entertainment on an area of 100ha

This year's festival was much larger and occupied 100 hectares (ha). Guests were treated to a much bigger program in comparison with last year: over 120 zones with all kinds of activities all over Pobedy Park starting with a huge tank twister, arcade machines, and fancy mazes and ending with break dancing master classes and a school for DJs.

In a special site of Belarus' Armed Forces guests could take a closer look at military hardware and take selfies with various genuine tanks, including the T-72B3 tank, which had helped the Belarusian team win the second place at a tank biathlon.

Apart from that, Wargaming Fest featured over 30 photo zones, 130 food courts as well as prominent interactive sites from partners of the festival. For instance, BelTA's photo exhibition Belarus Remembers 75 War Moments highlighted the deeds Belarusians committed during the Great Patriotic War of 1941-1945. The archive images bear witness to unique episodes of war history.

Over 200 computers were placed in Belarus' largest outdoor video gaming zone to allow gamers to play World of Tanks and earn bonus codes. Three players with the top experience earned in World of Tanks Blitz received smartphones as prizes. In the demo zone gamers could take a look at the new third-person shooter Caliber.

An additional gaming zone of more than 100 computers with World of Tanks, Caliber, and Pagan Online was available in the Premium Hangar. Fans of World of Tanks: Mercenaries could take powerful consoles Xbox One X for a spin to appreciate the true beauty of 4K resolution and realistic graphics. The international tournament Steel Hunter: Battle of Bloggers took place in the hangar as well. As many as 20 bloggers fought for a respectable prize. As a result, the participant named _NIDIN_ won the Main Caliber prize by delivering the most damage over the course of ten battles and went away with a prize of RUB110,000. Battles on the main stage

A Clan Super Cup match between the best clan teams of the RU and EU regions took place on the main stage. It was a 15 vs 15 battle for a prize pool of $40,000. As a result, the team [MERCY] МОНИК from the RU region crushed the [DE-VI] Delicious Vicious team from the EU region 5:0 to win $25,000 and 500,000 gold as well as a branded headset from the festival's partner.

Artists

Prominent musicians were invited to perform on the stage fitted with powerful equipment.
