Volfovich underlines Belarus' readiness to fully cooperate in BRICS format

MINSK, 11 September (BelTA) – State Secretary of the Security Council of Belarus Aleksandr Volfovich took part in a meeting of high representatives on security of the BRICS states and partners in St. Petersburg, Russian Federation on 11 September, BelTA has learned.

The event was aimed at improving foreign policy coordination of the member states, joint search for effective responses to international security challenges and threats to regional stability. The meeting participants exchanged views on key issues of the global and regional agendas.

Aleksandr Volfovich drew attention to the current challenges and threats to regional and international security within the context of the present military and political situation in the world and in the Eastern European region. He also emphasized the consistency of Belarus' efforts to promote the peace agenda in the international arena and the readiness to fully cooperate in the BRICS format.

On the sidelines of the forum, heads of foreign delegations held a number of bilateral meetings on topical issues of the global and regional agenda. In particular, Aleksandr Volfovich had a meeting with Deputy Prime Minister of Serbia Aleksandar Vulin, National Security Advisor to the Prime Minister of India Ajit Doval, Deputy Secretary General of the National Security Council of Türkiye Samandji Mustafa, Minister of Internal Affairs of Cuba Lazaro Alberto Alvarez Casas.
