Volfovich: The MILEX expo allows participants to establish beneficial cooperation

MINSK, 21 May (BelTA) - Forums like MILEX provide participants with opportunities to expand contacts and establish mutually beneficial cooperation, State Secretary of the Belarusian Security Council Aleksandr Volfovich told the media at the 12th edition of the international arms and defense technology expo MILEX 2025 in Minsk, BelTA learned.

"This is already the 12th edition of the MILEX expo held in our country. It is symbolic that in the year of the 80th anniversary of the Great Victory, Belarus welcomes its guests and friends in a new exhibition pavilion, recently opened by the Belarusian head of state. This once again confirms our peaceful policy and the country's desire to showcase innovations in the economy and defense industry not on the battlefield, but in exhibition halls and pavilions," Aleksandr Volfovich stated.
He emphasized that the challenging geopolitical situation requires Belarus and its friendly nations to jointly develop strategies to ensure national security and protect national interests. Speaking about MILEX, Aleksandr Volfovich noted that Belarus has presented more than 750 exhibits, along with displays of Russia, China, Iran, Pakistan, India, and other countries.

"Many of the exhibits showcased by Belarus today were developed jointly with Russia. This is logical, as Belarus and Russia are strategic partners, we have the Union State. Together, we work out strategies to protect our defense space and have already developed strategic documents such as the Union State Security Concept and the Military Doctrine. Therefore, it is completely natural that we are building a defense strategy together, not for aggression, but for protection," he stressed.
Aleksandr Volfovich also highlighted that Belarus and Russia hold joint events that demonstrate their peaceful policies, including the Zapad 2025 army exercise, which is primarily aimed at defending their security space.

"Belarus welcomes visitors, and people are coming to us. More than 30 countries, over 50 delegations, and various international organizations are present at this expo. They are showcasing their products and exploring the latest developments in our country's defense industry complex. The key areas include missile construction, mobility solutions, communications, reconnaissance, electronic warfare, and unmanned aerial systems. Here, we are presenting new defense industry developments from Belarus that no one has seen before, and they will certainly attract interest," Aleksandr Volfovich stated.

According to him, forums like MILEX enable participants to expand contacts and build mutually beneficial cooperation, including in security protection.
