VITEBSK, 10 June (BelTA) – An exhibition of Latvian artists opened in Vitebsk on 10 June, BelTA learnt from the Vitebsk Center of Modern Arts.
The exposition Contemporaries features the works of 17 artists including Maris Upzars, Agnija Germane, Sandra Strele, Kate Serzane, and others. The exhibition is organized by Vitebsk and Latvian artists in cooperation with the Consulate of Latvia in Vitebsk. The specialists noted that in 2010-2012 Vitebsk painters took part in the plein air in the town of Bauska. Over the years numerous Latvian projects have been implemented in the Vitebsk Center of Modern Arts, the Marc Chagall Museum, the Vitebsk Oblast Local History Museum and other institutions.
This time Vitebsk residents have a chance to get familiar with the works of contemporary artists of Latvia working in both traditional and experimental styles, see the variety of figural and hard-edge painting.
The expo will stay open till 23 June.
