Vitebsk company to batch produce protective suits for medics

VITEBSK, 3 April (BelTA) – OAO Trud-Vitebsk (Truvi trademark) will start batch producing protective suits for medics on 4 April, the company's Director Vitaly Starikovich told BelTA.

The company already makes medical clothing but has decided to start making disposable protective suits. Fabric will be bought in Svetlogorsk. “We intend to make about 3,000 suits per day. We will ship the product to [the medical products supplier] Medtekhnika in Vitebsk. They will have to distribute the suits among healthcare institutions,” Vitaly Starikovich said.

In his words, the personnel work in one shift but there is enough space for accommodating up to 50 machinists more. Ten students from a local college will arrive soon for internship purposes.

Trud-Vitebsk has recently received orders for nearly 11,000 sets of special medical clothing from the local companies Belwest and Energocomplekt. These companies decided to donate the medical clothing to the Vitebsk Oblast infectious diseases hospital.

“We also make various protective clothing for Vitebsk-based OAO Znamya Industrializacii and KUPP Vitebchanka,” the director added.

OAO Trud-Vitebsk was established in 1991. The company offers a broad range of garments. At present the company employs over 70 people.
