Vietnam’s province of Ba Ria-Vung Tau seeks more tourists from Belarus

MINSK, 21 August (BelTA) - Consul General of the Republic of Belarus in Ho Chi Minh City Ruslan Varankou met with Chairman of the People's Committee of Ba Ria-Vung Tau Province Nguyen Van Tho on 21 August, BelTA learned from the General Consulate in Ho Chi Minh City.

The parties discussed in detail the current state of cooperation between Belarus as a whole and its individual regions with the province of Ba Ria-Vung Tau.

Noting the significant untapped potential of bilateral cooperation, primarily in trade, economy and investment, the parties focused on ways of expandomg mutually beneficial cooperation in a number of areas.

Thus, the head of the Belarusian consular mission emphasized Belarus's readiness to take part in infrastructure and industrial projects, including oil production and refining, household and construction waste treatment, provision of utility vehicles and construction equipment.

Chairman Nguyen Van Tho expressed interest in increasing tourist flows from Belarus to the seaside resorts of Ba Ria-Vung Tau. 

As one of the next steps on the bilateral agenda, the parties agreed to work on establishing sister city relations between one of the regional centers of Belarus and Vung Tau, the largest city in the province of Ba Ria-Vung Tau. 

The parties concur that twinning relations are one of the most promising forms of regional cooperation and are drivers of the entire spectrum of bilateral relations.
