KOPYL, 6 September (BelTA) – We need to build the state as one united family, Belarus' Deputy Prime Minister Igor Petrishenko told the media during the celebrations of Belarusian Written Language Day in Kopyl on 5 September, BelTA has learned.
“A large team worked hard to bring something new to the program of Belarusian Written Language Day in Kopyl. The holiday has been timed to the Year of People's Unity. There are many thematic expositions, devoted to the history of the country, its reunification in 1939, the war period and the people who made a significant contribution to its development. The purpose of the exhibitions is to show the young generation the thorny path our country has walked to independence. So that Belarusians could shape and develop the state the way they want it,” Igor Petrishenko said.
He stressed that the state should be built as a one united family, including both ethnic Belarusians and representatives of other nationalities living peacefully in the country.
“Kopyl has been greatly transformed. I can see how cozy its streets have become. Repair work was carried out at about 500 sites, located not only in the center, but also on the outskirts. These were educational institutions, cultural buildings, local authorities' offices. Special attention was paid to children. Now they will study in comfortable conditions. Many interesting interactive, educational and entertaining platforms with prizes were available for children during the celebrations. The event also featured digitalization to be on the same wave with the youth. They could get familiar with history in the most comfortable for them format: we have equipped a number of objects with QR-codes,” the deputy prime minister said.
Belarusian Written Language Day was held in Kopyl on 4-5 September under the motto “Literature Unites Us”.
