MINSK, 20 August (BelTA) – Participation in the Intervision Song Contest has already been confirmed by 21 countries, including the United States, said Alexander Alimov, Director of the Department for Multilateral Humanitarian Cooperation and Cultural Relations of the Russian Ministry of Foreign Affairs, TASS reports.

These countries include Belarus, Venezuela, Vietnam, Egypt, India, Kazakhstan, Qatar, Kenya, China, Colombia, Cuba, Kyrgyzstan, Madagascar, Russia, Saudi Arabia, Serbia, the United States, Tajikistan, Uzbekistan, Ethiopia, and the South African Republic. This expands the list from the 19 countries previously announced to include Kenya and Ethiopia.

According to Alexander Alimov, the organizers are also counting on the participation of the UAE.

Alexander Alimov emphasized that “global interest in the contest is evident”.

“Unfortunately, not all of the countries we invited ultimately ended up on our list. But I must say that not a single rejection was made on our part for political reasons,” he said.

On 3 February, Russian President Vladimir Putin signed a decree to hold the Intervision Song Contest in Moscow and Moscow Oblast in 2025. It was later announced that the contest would take place on 20 September at the Live Arena venue in Moscow. Intervision will showcase the participating nations’ cultural diversity and unique identities, promoting mutual respect for their traditions and values. Belarus will be represented by Anastasia Kravchenko. The artist’s accolades include victories and awards from competitions at the national and international level. In recent years, she has been a superfinalist of The X Factor. Belarus, a finalist of the Trend Takeoff show, and a laureate of the Song of the Year Belarus and the New Song of the Year in Moscow.
