University students volunteer to help talk to refugees stuck at Belarusian-Polish border

GRODNO, 17 November (BelTA) – Students of the Yanka Kupala State University of Grodno, who can speak foreign languages, will arrive at the border in the afternoon, BelTA learned from Chairman of the Education, Science, Culture, and Social Development Commission of the Council of the Republic of the National Assembly of Belarus Viktor Liskovich.

The senator said the university students will facilitate communication with refugees. Apart from that, three paramedic teams will stay near the logistics hub where some of the refugees stay in order to provide the necessary aid. Preparations for meal distribution are now in progress near the logistics hub.

Apart from that, 10,000 medical masks will be handed out in the temporary refugee accommodation facility in the transportation and logistics hub in order to prevent the spread of infectious diseases, including COVID-19.
