MINSK, 4 December (BelTA) - A Union State Tourism Information Center will open in Smolensk in 2026, Belarusian Deputy Sport and Tourism Minister Oleg Andreichik told the media on the sidelines of a meeting of the High-Level Group of the Council of Ministers of the Union State of Belarus and Russia, BelTA has learned.
“Today we had an extensive discussion about tourism development. We have worked on quite a few joint projects. The first of them is the establishment of a Union State Tourism Information Center in Smolensk. The project is slated for completion in 2026. I believe that the center will be fully operational by the end of 2026. It will coordinate our joint marketing policies, promote regional tourism products, create tourism zones, develop territories, and attract investments,” Oleg Andreichik said.

The development of cross-border Union State routes were also on the agenda today. “We are creating a unified framework and a single expert council. We will establish a registry, a list of tourist routes. We will attract investment to take this project further,” the deputy minister noted.
