MOSCOW, 3 February (BelTA) – The Belarus-Russia Union State PA Commission on Culture, Science and Education will hold its meeting in Minsk on 8 February, BelTA learned from the press service of the Parliamentary Assembly (PA).
“MPs will be presented with preliminary information on the Union State budget performance in 2023 in part of the activities of the PA Commission of on Culture, Science and Education, and also on the development of new projects and activities of the Union State based on the proposals of the Commission,” the press service said.
The participants of the meeting will also discuss the possibility of a project to finance the restoration and rehabilitation of the sculpture Final Stand which is part of the Heroes of the Battle of Stalingrad memorial complex at Mamaev Kurgan in Volgograd. The proposal was initiated by the PA Commission on Budget, Taxes and Financial Market.
Among those invited to attend the event are representatives of the Union State Standing Committee, the Culture Ministries of Belarus and Russia, the Education Ministry of Belarus, the Ministry of Education and the Ministry of Science and Higher Education of the Russian Federation.
On 9 February MPs are expected to hold a meeting-dialogue with Metropolitan of Minsk and Zaslavl Veniamin, Patriarchal Exarch of All Belarus in St. Elizabeth Convent of the Diocese of Minsk of the Belarusian Orthodox Church. The meeting will highlight the theme of the preservation and development of Orthodox culture and spiritual and moral values.
