MOSCOW, 12 July (BelTA) – Members of the Parliamentary Assembly of the Union State of Belarus and Russia will attend events of the 30th edition of the International Festival of Arts Slavianski Bazaar in Vitebsk, BelTA learned from the press service of the Parliamentary Assembly.
“Members of the Parliamentary Assembly will attend the official events of the festival and the song contests, take part in a press conference timed to the opening of the Slavianski Bazaar festival and events within the framework of the Union State Day,” the press service said.
“The festival contributes greatly to the development of the Union State. The Parliamentary Assembly supports all initiatives aimed at strengthening ties between the nations of Belarus and Russia, advancing the dialogue between Slavic cultures, and enriching them. The annual meetings of artists and fans in Vitebsk symbolize the brotherly bond of Belarusians and Russians that has forged over centuries,” the press service noted.
The Union State participates in financing the festival. The Union State Day has been part of the program since 2003. Members of the Parliamentary Assembly and the Standing Committee of the Union State will attend events of the Slavianski Bazaar festival as organizers and guests.
“The Parliamentary Assembly established two special awards that will be presented to participants of the international song contest and two special awards for participants of the children's song contest. In line with the tradition, the awards will be bestowed on the best representatives of Belarus and Russia at the two song contests,” the press service added.
